Our Origin

Proving The Value Of Experience

In 1999, the science of customer experience (CX) was given little attention by the business world. Albert van Wyk, founder and leading CX researcher, was campaigning for executives to get a better grasp of customer experience by measuring experience at every touch point - a foreign concept at the time. Finally, Albert managed to get the attention of a company looking to do things differently. He put together a team and got to work. Within months, they flipped a highly competitive industry on its head - winning their partner 80% market share and millions in annual revenue. Albert went on to establish Market Research Management (MRM), which would eventually become Resonancy, reshaping the way industry leaders interact with their customers.

Becoming Tech

Finding The Right Tools

In the early 2000s, software became increasingly embedded in service delivery. Fully embracing this shift, MRM started leveraging these tools to more easily capture and measure touchpoint data, and provide streamlined customer service. Though it proved to be a game changer, many of the industry leaders MRM was working with had operations too complex for these software tools. Not being able to easily capture the right data or provide the envisioned experience, MRM decided to start building the right tools for the job themselves. Custom software development became such a key part of MRM's CX value-add, that MRM rebranded to MRM Tech.
